About the Book: Oh, my God, that searing pain on my backside! Brantley, haunted by the searing pain of his traumatic childhood, struggles to cope as an adult. His past, dominated by his abusive mother, fuels a deep resentment toward women who remind him of her. When shocking family secrets come to light, his life spirals further out of control, intensifying his fragile existence. Whenever a woman triggers memories of his mother, Brantley lashes out, embarking on a vengeful mission to destroy those women who remind him of his torment.

Meanwhile, ATF Special Agent Mark Miller teams up with Boston Fire and Police to investigate a series of puzzling arsons that seem to exclusively target women. The investigators wonder what the mysterious motive for this murderous serial arson spree could be. Complicating things, Mark, despite all his work successes, battles personal relationship issues and uncovers his own family secrets that dramatically challenge him.

As the investigation progresses, the evidence begins to implicate Mark as the arsonist. Having not learned from his past and by not sharing secrets with his lover and fellow investigators, he is determined to solve this case on his own. With his relationships crumbling and the investigation closing in on him, Mark races to stop the real torch before disaster strikes close to home.

Both men navigate a dangerous, dark path that culminates where it is meant to be—at another disastrous fire scene. The dramatic twists and turns will leave you breathless. The pages of this psychological crime thriller burn as you read them.
