Weymouth Child Family Community Center Parent Empowerment Series: Positive Behavior Support
Tuesday, November 126:30—7:30 PMMeeting Room 133Tufts Library46 Broad Street, Weymouth, MA, 02188
Please join us as we welcome our November Parent Empowerment Series presenter Mrs. Costa LMHC (Child Life Counselor) as she helps us learn how to incorporate positive behavior support strategies that will help improve behavioral success through non-punitive and proactive techniques.
Positive Behavioral Support (PBS) is a school wide framework that offers an approach to develop an understanding of why children engage in challenging behavior and strategies to prevent challenging behaviors while teaching them new skills. This workshop will focus on how to implement and carry over these PBS strategies into the home environment. We will review how to help your child identify their feelings, work through challenging emotions while gaining appropriate coping skills. We will also review preventative strategies such as creating routines, rules and schedules.
